Music of the Americas


        The Avanti Guitar Trio blends together the fiery, emotive music of Latin and South American composer's such as: Laurindo Almeida, Paulo Bellinati, Carlos Bonell and Máximo Diego Pujol, with the cool, open and often jazzy sounds of U.S. and Canadian composers who have written music expressly for the Avanti Guitar Trio. 


What’s Old is New Again: Early Music and Contemporary Compositions

   

Exploring the connection between music of the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical eras with contemporary compositions, the Avanti Guitar Trio illustrates surprising similarities between music separated by centuries.

Through guided listening examples AGT illuminates compositional tools and musical concepts that unify the music of Bach, Vivaldi, and Boccherini with works of our own time.  Audiences gain an intellectual understanding of historical and contemporary music, an introduction to new sounds and ideas, and an emotional connection to music that spans the centuries.


Introducing the Avanti Guitar Trio


Thomas Clippert, Julie Goldberg, and Jeffrey Gabriel Silva highlight the versatile and varied guitar trio repertoire in a program featuring music from the Renaissance through 21st Century; classical and contemporary compositions; and selections influenced by folk, rock, and jazz.

          Exploring the full range of musical emotion and style, the Avanti Guitar Trio performs expressive, sensitive, and lyrical compositions as well as energetic, dynamic, and exuberant selections. Members of the Avanti Guitar Trio accompany their superb musical performances with insightful information about the beautiful compositions performed.
